 | | Target Equipment - Target Unit & Controllers: | | | | ITU90SH Target Units |
|
-
ITU90SH target unit is a lightweight, easily portable unit complete with an internal battery and the added ability to operate from external 12 volt power sources.
-
The unit is capable of showing either face from a central ‘edge on’ position (i.e. two-way turn). The target mechanism will also provide swing out and, with additional brackets, slice, vertical rise and pop-up mode (a standard torso target can be lifted in the pop-up mode). |
|

|
-
Target unit has a shot sensor capability which can be adjusted to suit various calibre weapons and target board materials. Can be set to provide fall when hit, multiple hit or a bounce back capability. Any combination of these options can be programmed in sequence, therefore enabling the target units to simulate an enemy position being reinforced.
-
The unit can also activate virtually all known simulations, retaliatory fire, night shooting illuminations and many of the other electronic signalling equipment currently in use.
-
Can communicate to and, in return, receive information from its controller. Target units can be freely positioned throughout the range and still maintain full bi-directional communications.
-
Because of its lightweight/compact size, when it is taken out of the range, the target unit can be easily protected by a modular ballistic protection system.
-
There are a number of control systems available, as follows:- |
|
| | | | TRC Handheld Controller |
| The Shield Transceiver Radio Controller (TRC) heads our range of target control systems and is the most versatile, bi-directional radio control system available.
Capable of controlling up to 100 target units in groups of 10:-
|
|
| | | |
| |
The controller has a menu option, which allows the status of the target units to be viewed:-
-
total number of active targets,
-
individual target numbers,
-
radio channels,
-
group addresses,
-
battery status,
-
target position and
-
loaded programs.
The controller is able to program the targets to respond to a variety of auxiliary sensors and to hits on the target.
Target units may be programmed to interact with each other so that the shooter’s triggering or engaging of one target will cause or inhibit reactions from other targets.
Targets may also be programmed to initiate pyrotechnics, provide timed outputs to slave devices such as retaliatory fire, screening smoke, etc. |

| | | | STC/XPS Computer Program |
| STC/XPS is a PC-based multi-target workstation.
-
The computer interface module RS485 I/O card transmits the target data to the target units down a single twisted pair cable using digital communications technology. The maximum range for transmission on the twisted pair cable is 1000 metres.
-
The STC/XPS system will control the target units as a group or individually for face directions of friend, enemy and edge with target exposure values from 0.5 seconds up to 9,999 seconds. These values can be transmitted to control any number of targets up to 100 target units.
Results
-
Hits on the target are displayed on request and are allocated to the friend or enemy side of the target.
-
Hits are stored at each target and are continuously updated at the PC workstation where the results can be collated and, if required, printed out as a hard copy for individual targets and practices, also for total team scores.
-
The system also registers the amount of time (in milli-seconds) that it takes for the shooter to react from when the target is turned to the time of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th shots, providing reaction time for double tap with pistols and 3 round engagement with weapons such as MP5’s. |

| | | | SPLD/TX Small Handheld Controller |
|
-
SPLD/TX is a compact, rugged and accurate timer/ controller, providing the shooter with precise, timed, programmable shooting disciplines by radio link or by using the twisted pair cable for communication between the SPLD/TX and the target units.
-
Allows up to 200 functions to be stored in its memory, retained by its own battery backup – when the controller is switched off, all programs are retained. |
|
| | | |
|
-
Highly accurate timings are achieved from 0.01 seconds to 9,999 minutes, enabling all forms of target exposures to be created and programmed for up to 12 individual targets or any number when controlled as a group. This is achieved by entering in by keypad the desired functions for each target unit as a program/shoot. There are 10 programmable slots available to enable the operator to control numerous multi-function target movements.
-
The SPLD/TX will control and communicate with all know target systems, thus enabling you to continue using your existing equipment, as well as allowing you to also use the advanced target equipment from Shield. |
